CHROMOSOME COUNTS OF SOME ANGIOSPERM SPECIES FROM IRAN (III)
Authors
Abstract:
Original meiotic or mitotic chromosome counts are presented for 17 species in 12 families of angiosperms from Iran. Chromosome counts for Amberboa nana, n=16 (Asteraceae) and Camelina rumelica subsp. transcapica, n=13 (Brassicaceae) are repoted for the first time. Chromosome numbers for six species including: Rhagadiolus stellatus (n=5), Campanula raponcoloides (n=34), Campanula trachelium (n=10), Helianthemum salicifolium (n=10), Sorghum halepense (n=20), Consolida orientalis (n=8) are new reports for the flora of Iran. Also, the tetraploid level of n=12 for Linaria simplex is reported here for the first time.

Cytological information is absolutely lacking for the Iranian moss flora (Bryophytes). The present research, dealing with cytological studies on the following five species (including two expressions and one variety) of Iranian mosses, namely, Amblystegium riparium (Hedw.) B.S.G. “brevipes” expression(n=20), A. riparium (Hedw.) B.S.G. “pennellii” expression (n=9, 9+m, 9+2m), A. serpens (Hedw.) B...

In this study, we investigated the chromosome numbers of some endemic species distributed in East and South-East Iran. The mitotic chromosome counts were presented for the first time for six species in three angiosperm families including: Linaria iranica (2n=12), Nanorrhinum campyloceras (2n=18), Chaenorhinum grossecostatum (2n=24) (Plantaginaceae), Gaillonia bruguieri (Rubiaceae) (2n=22), Nepe...

full textChromosome Numbers for Some Erodium L'Hér (Geraniaceae) Species of Iran
Erodium (Geranaiceae) species are distributed in different habitats of Iran. Some species are of medicinal importance while some are well known weeds. There are no chromosome counts for Erdoium species of Iran. Chromosome numbers are given for six taxa of Erodium (Geraniaceae) from Iran: E. cicutarium (2n=36), E. ciconium(2n=18), E. malacoides (2n=20), E. moschatum (2n=20), E. neuradifolium (2n...
full textChromosome Numbers and Karyotypes of Four Species Rubus L. from North of Iran
Karyotype study was performed across 7 populations of 4 Rubus species growing in Iran. The results showed that the chromosome numbers of R. sanctus (2n=2x=14) diploid, R. caesius, and R. discolor were (2n=4x=28) tetraploids, R. persicus (2n=8x=56) octoploid. The chromosome numbers of R. discolor, and R. persicus were reported here for the first time. Karyotypic formula also varied between the s...
